چکیده

Accident of oil and gas pipeline may result in enormous economic loss, great casualties and severe environmental pollution (Assael and Kakosimos, 2010). In the field of pipeline accident emergency, the Decision Support System (DSS) has been proposed to reduce the loss of an accident (Dey, 2001; Agbenowosi, 2000; Nataraj, 2005). However, their researches are mostly about risk management (Dey, 2001), materials scheduling (Agbenowosi, 2000), theory (Nataraj, 2005) and process of response, which are served for the decision-makers. In fact, though one of the most important steps of emergency response for accident of oil and gas pipeline is maintenance implemented, there is no enough attention paid on the maintenance scheme-making. The process of emergency maintenance for failure of oil and gas pipeline is very complex, which is different from the conventional maintenance and related to the geographic information around the position of failure, the type of failure and the parameter of pipeline. Fortunately, the process of emergency maintenance for pipeline failure can be modelled, shown as Fig.1. Route established for emergency equipment ventilating; scene security... Pressure relief of pipeline Safe environment established for maintenance pipe trench excavation; laying out of construction plant... Preparing for maintenance implemented plugging with pressure; replacing pipe without shutdown Maintenance implemented Recovering Maintenance closed Timeline of maitenance Figure 1. Process of emergency maintenance Analysing the process of emergency maintenance, the computer-based scheme-making system will be designed by following process, shown in Fig.2. And the scheme can be obtained with several advantages: (1) shorten the emergency time; (2) regulate the maintenance and reduce risk; (3) provide reference for the site commanders. geographic information(GI) Scheme-making system Scheme Scheme recipients

Flow Pattern Identification and Pressure Drop Calculation for Gas-Liquid Flow in a Horizontal Pipeline

Two phase gas-liquid flow pattern in a horizontal pipeline is predicted very accurately using a newly-developed analytical relation. The pattern identification is based on one of the most widely used graphs, the Baker diagram, modified in a way that compensates for the unrealistic oversimplifications of recent works. The Kern's method of pressure drop calculation is used to obtain the frict...

Application of Fuzzy Fault Tree Analysis on Oil and Gas Offshore Pipelines

Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) as a Probabilistic Risk Assessment (PRA) method is used to identify basic causes leading to an undesired event, to represent logical relation of these basic causes in leading to the event, and finally to calculate the probability of occurrence of this event. To conduct a quantitative FTA, one needs a fault tree along with failure data of the Basic Events (BEs). Someti...

Root Cause Analysis of NIOC\'s 20" Natural Gas Explosion

Transmission and distribution pipelines have a significant role in the oil and gas industries. Pipelines are facing different threat like corrosion, improper design and incorrect operation. Gas vapor released from a pipeline (owned by NIOC) failure spread out and reached to ignition source. Due to gas outdoor spreading, “flash fire” occurred and flame return caused “vapor cloud explosion” of ga...
